I received 20 calls in a five minute time span. When answered a man with a very heavy indian accent slurred and stumbled around something about wanting to confirm my ssn and bank number FORGET IT!! Scammer!!!

received a call from gentlemen (who I couldn't understand) claiming he has a legal claim pending unless i pay back an online loan that i did not take. he stated a claim against me and my ss#. Even though I informed him that i did not take a a loan he insisted on knowing my intentions. Said that he had my banking information but can't give a date of deposit. Refused to identify the company he is working for or give an address. I asked for the telephone # when i called back just rang a couple of times and nothing.

caller mark claims that they are representing texas highway patrol. claims that they are registerd with the state of texas, since 1991. when questioned if this is a dept of public safety recognized association or if they are representing state troopers, the response was " wouldn't you want to care for an injuried highway patrolman? wouldn't you want to help his family? are you not patriotic?"
He refused to answer my questions but did want to shame me for being unpatriotic.

I had a call from a guy named Mark saying I was entitled to an upgrade and a new cell phone but I'd have to change my phone number. I asked him to call back as I was busy.

I checked with Bell Mobility. The guy I spoke to said they NEVER call customers like this! He advised me to go to a dealer. He's had numerous calls questioning this offer.

I have no idea what this scam ultimately is but I don't like being scammed and advise people to check with BM themselves before agreeing to anything!!!

Please don't try calling the number 216-501-2998. I just did, and It belongs to a nice person who is being victimized twice.

First, the "Account Services" crooks are "spoofing" Caller ID to make it look like the call is coming from his cellphone.

Second, over the past few days, he has been getting dozens of calls from people who are upset with "Account Services". He was very polite and assured me that he is not a telemarketer. His voice sounded nothing like the "Mark" person who answers when you press 1.

This number is used by Skype when people make calls from their PC to a land-line. I see it quite often when receiving international calls.
