A new scam is afoot. Numbers appearing to be from my local area, New River Valley, VA are becoming more common. A couple of times the prefix, 808, that is mostly local cell phones called me. This time I answered, waited, heard background clatter, and asked, "Is this a call center?" A woman answered, "I'm calling about your timeshare." I said, "I don't have a timeshare, and I'm blocking your number." The caller ID was BLACKSBURG VA, but I'd bet it was spoofed.
