We got a call on the 12th from 559-475-6663. It was a recording saying it was a collection agency and to press some number to speak to soneone. The call dropped or they hung up. But then they left a voicemail saying they were from "Checks Media" and that this is not a solicitation and that I or my legal council should contact them immediately about an item returned from my bank.
I tried calling the number back. It was local after all and we don't get too many scan calls from our own area code. The first few times it would ring once and then just drop. I tried the next day and it always went to a voice mail that said it was full. I searched on google and found no references to this number being associated with a scam, so I assumed it was legit. I've continued to call that number every few days since the 12th but the voice mail box is always full. On a whim, I tried searching again on google and it now appears that a bunch of people have reported the same thing after our initial call on June 12th.
