I was left a very disturbing message that an attempt to serve me a summons had been made by my local sheriff. The sheriffs office has no record of this and in fact, they don't even do that job in my county; third parties do. The person calling doesn't identify who they are with or what the matter is regarding. Isn't this type of activity illegal via telephone?
