I didn't recognize the phone number, so I just let my machine record the call. The man said "this is John Bryce & I'm calling for, (my name & State)", then there was a short pause & I could hear the sounds of papers being shuffled around, (I guess he didn't have all the names of his pigeons...oops, I mean customers....organized yet)! He could be heard getting the papers all lined up by holding the stack & tapping them on the edge of his desk, (I guess he's not only an annoying liar, but he's a bit compulsive, too), then he continues with, "I'm calling from the MegaMillions Company to tell you I have a certified check for $1.5 MILLION, & a new car for you. If you're interested, please call me at 876-569-7874" When I replayed the message so my hubby could have a good laugh, too, I noticed that the phone number he told me to call was different from the info that appeared on Caller ID, which was, "Cell Phone JM 876-354-7642". I looked up the Caller ID number online, & it is located in Jamaica, some sites said it was a land line & some said it was a cell phone. The man who called didn't have an accent, as is usually the case with scam calls like this, "John Bryce" sounded very pleasant & non-threatening, but since I'm not a "lucky" person by any stretch of the imagination & I've received numerous calls similar to this in the past & they were definitely scams, I can only give my educated guess & say hat this is a scam, too. Having been the victim of Identity Theft TWICE, I've learned that you can't trust anyone you don't know, & sadly, even some people you DO know aren't trustworthy. I'm going to block this number, & may I suggest that you all do the same...better safe than sorry! If there WAS a certified check & a new car for me, a reputable company would use a safer, more personal way to contact me, (you know, like Publisher's Clearing House style...they'd drive to my house IN the new car, give me roses, balloons, confetti & have some handsome guy personally hand me the certified check & have dozens of cameras rolling to record the event).
I hate being so cynical, but people are so cruel, heartless & greedy these days, I have no other choice.

Caller type: Scammer
Caller: John Bryce
Company: The MegaMillions Company but Caller ID showed Cell Phone JM
Number: 876-569-7874
