The caller claimed to be calling from the "Windows Service Center, regarding your computer".
He had an Indian/ Arab accent. (I used to live in the UK, so I know how difficult it is to distinguish between these accents [plenty migrate to the UK], but it was definitely from that part of the world.)

Now, there's no such thing as a "Windows Service Center". There might be a MICROSOFT service center... but even if there was, they wouldn't be calling a number that is no way linked to anything to do with Microsoft.

Not only that, we've only had the phone number for a week! It's not linked to ANYTHING just yet. Bit miffed that it's already SOMEHOW in the hands of these a***oles.

So, all I said was "I doubt that mate", to which he replied, in a very downbeat manner, "Oh, ok, bye".

SCAM.

To anyone who has given these people personal information and/ or money, file a complaint with the FTC. It's the only way to get anything done about these lowlifes.
