"John" called me from "Microsoft's IT Department located in Brooklyn, New York." John told me he was calling about the error messages on my computer and that my computer was infected with virus. There was a lot of background noise indicating this may have been from a call center. John asked me what my screen said. I told him, "I looked up your number on 1-800 notes and it says here that you're a scammer." He paused for a minute, said, "Really?!?" and hung up.

John called wanting to update our yellow page listing after confirming all the information he wanted my job title. When I gave it he said they didn't have that as part of their system he would make me an admin. I said I am not an admin but he said it was for his purpose only and he'd send me to an auto system and to only answer yes....only it wasn't an auto system and he would yell at me for being honest. I hung up and he continued to call 10 more times.

He says he is from Microsoft and wants to get into our computer. He says there is a virus on it and the matter is urgent. His voice is that of a middle aged Eastern Indian male. The caller ID comes up as Henry G. Kanicki but he says his name is John. He calls late at night and early in the morning. Sometimes the caller ID comes up as Private Number as well.

"John" was unintelligible. 4:12 pm on October 15, 2014 – Received call from “(blank)” phone number. I answered the call. I asked the guy to hold. I got back on the phone and asked him for his phone number in the event we were disconnected. The number he gave me was 786-600-1720. He was EXTREMELY difficult to understand. I made him keep repeating himself. I played dumb to annoy him. I asked all kinds of stupid questions. I grew bored. I let him know that I was going to contact the Texas Attorney General Office's about the call and report the number. I'm on the “Do Not Call List.” FIGHT BACK. Contact your State Attorney General's Office!!! I did so as soon as I got off the phone!
