I received a phone call from a man by the name of John Adams, with an extremely deep indian accent that I could hardle understandm informing me that I needed to return his phone call immediately as their are charges on my social security number for a loan I took out. While I asked him the name of the company he wouldn't give it to me, the loan amount was $300 but couldn't provide the date the loan was given and only that I needed to tell them whether I was paying it or not. If not in 7 days I could be put behind bars and have to deal with it in court. Of course when asked what court and what law firm and why nothing was in writing he became extremely aggitated and hostile and said I was wasting his time. I told him I would have my attorney contact him and he then hung up. There is no question that this is a scam however a very irritating one!! Its harrassment, libelous and should be reported to the better business bureau immediately. If it persists file a police report for harassment and should eventually end.

Offered a free Blackberry Curve but then wanted my social insurance number. The call was about 10 minutes long. He verified my name and DOB and proceeded to collect my SIN number and we asked his name - he indicated John Adams but had a very asian accent. We questioned why he wanted the information and he was indicating for a credit check. he provided the number and said we can call him back.
