'Nuff said about NCO Financial 877-338-7013 and their collection tactics! Royal pain even after I gave them my oral and written directive for no further contact with me and ditto by my attorney. So reported them to any and all federal, state and local agencies that enforce Fair Debt Collection Practices Act among other consumer and private citizen protection laws and regulations.

Soooooo, if NCO Financial or other debt collector contacts you:

First step: You need to do a little leg work too: If you receive a 'collection call' you NEED to: (1) Notify NCO Financial they are not to make ANY further contact with you: phone calls, letters, emails, etc. (2) Be sure to note the date, time and get a name. OR, if you answer a robo-dialed call be sure to note the date, time and numbers of calls received because you won't just get one call. Trust me.

Second Step: If you receive a 'collection call' you NEED to: (1) Notify in writing them you already provided them oral do not call or contact notification on such-and-such a date, time and the name of the collector. (2) In this same letter, request a full and complete debt validation document. They are required to provide one to you. If this an old debt, say going back 3-4 years they may be trying to collect on a debt that that hit the statute of limitations for debt collection. (3) Mail your written notification and request for debt validation and pay for either return receipt request or USPS delivery confirmation to confirm your letter was sent and received by them. Be sure to keep notes or copies of your oral and or written notifications to have no further contact with you.

Third Step: File a formal complaint with the federal Fair Trade Commission. You can call their hotline, file an online complaint or a letter that you notified NCO Financial not to have any further contact with you. They will not resolve an individual consumer complaint BUT will record it in their database to build or continue to build a case against NCO Financial or other abusive collection agency.
