These mofo debt collectors left me an exhaustive voicemail today. Some hardcore debtor either had my number several years ago or has been using it.

'Nuff said about NCO Financial 877-338-7013 and their collection tactics! Royal pain even after I gave them my oral and written directive for no further contact with me and ditto by my attorney. So reported them to any and all federal, state and local agencies that enforce Fair Debt Collection Practices Act among other consumer and private citizen protection laws and regulations.

Soooooo, if NCO Financial or other debt collector contacts you:

First step: You need to do a little leg work too: If you receive a 'collection call' you NEED to: (1) Notify NCO Financial they are not to make ANY further contact with you: phone calls, letters, emails, etc. (2) Be sure to note the date, time and get a name. OR, if you answer a robo-dialed call be sure to note the date, time and numbers of calls received because you won't just get one call. Trust me.

Second Step: If you receive a 'collection call' you NEED to: (1) Notify in writing them you already provided them oral do not call or contact notification on such-and-such a date, time and the name of the collector. (2) In this same letter, request a full and complete debt validation document. They are required to provide one to you. If this an old debt, say going back 3-4 years they may be trying to collect on a debt that that hit the statute of limitations for debt collection. (3) Mail your written notification and request for debt validation and pay for either return receipt request or USPS delivery confirmation to confirm your letter was sent and received by them. Be sure to keep notes or copies of your oral and or written notifications to have no further contact with you.

Third Step: File a formal complaint with the federal Fair Trade Commission. You can call their hotline, file an online complaint or a letter that you notified NCO Financial not to have any further contact with you. They will not resolve an individual consumer complaint BUT will record it in their database to build or continue to build a case against NCO Financial or other abusive collection agency.

Once again these idiots from Capitol One call my home. What is absolutely frustrating is they are looking for my wife's ex-husband and his current wife. My wife divorced the dead beat over 25 years ago. This is probably the 30th call we have received from this collection agency in the past week. I have given them the ex's contact number over and over again but they continue to call us. Since the caller today had a very "thick" accent I asked her where she was. She admitted to me that she was in India. WTF!!!!! No wonder no one gets the message that they continue to call the wrong place. But what amazes me the most is I've done their investigative work for them and handed them the phone numbers for both the ex-husband and his wife but these idiots continue to call me. And no matter what some of you think, this is not some company phishing for your info. This is NCO Financial, with cold callers located in India, and they do debt collections for Capitol One and this fact was verified by a customer service manager at Capitol One.

nco finance- But they lv a name Huber or Monroe to call them right back, and when you do who ever answers tells you not here at the moment, supposedly he just hung up from making the call to you on a debt.

Basically, bottom line, debt owed is by someone unknown to our tel.# and where they are getting their information on names and numbers is incorrect. The provider that is giving them the info, is unqualifed. Has nothing to do with our name and tel.# and the calls keep coming in after explanation. Need to call the better bus bureau in St Paul, Mn

When I politely asked if they could slow down so I could understand them... they got ingignant and spoke even faster.

This number keeps calling the empty cube across from me at work 3-4 times a day. We had a temp working in that cube, but they are calling for some other person entirely. We'd have IT cut the phone off, but we actually receive real messages on it, and I have to retrieve them. The auto messages leave a "reference #" and says to call "John Huber" and say they are "NCO Financial". I tried calling to tell them they have the wrong number and that they are calling a business where the person has never worked, but all it did was ring and ring and ring. Thankfully they aren't calling my phone, but I have to check the other phone for messages, and weeding through these is extremely annoying and a waste of my time.

Calls multiple times a day. No message left. I never answer the call. I tried to call the number back and even entering the correctly results in the call going to area code 510. They get a ton of calls from people calling this number back. In less than 10 minutes I got a call from an unknown number 866-398-8233.

Caller asked for one of my relatives because I'm one of his character references.. I said I cannot give him any info about this person since we haven't seen each other in a long time. Caller was suspicious and sounded very rude and irritated. I ended the call to avoid further discussion.
