Another tax scammer. Typical threats of warrants and fines and such. He sounded Indian. He couldn't verify anything significant except basic billing information. I guess they stole a database of information from some institution. Just hang up and block their number.

Dear Susan (I hope you are Googling yourself and see how famous you are!),

Love your Indian accent but do you know what you are doing is bring tremendous shame to the rest of your Indian population???

I have contacted the FBI, the Treasury Department, and the Federal Trade Commission. I hope you enjoy the rest of your youthful life in a 4X4 prison cell repenting what you have done to others. Shame on you!

These cockroaches are calling for the past few days claiming they're from the IRS.

They either play a robot message or ask you personally some questions. They want you to believe the Irs has filed a lawsuit against you...

Today I had enough and unloaded on them fvckers.

They then start making fun of me for having too much coffee in the afternoon etc etc

Can someone please find out where they are and deal with them pieces of s hits!!

Pretty sure the IRS doesn't let you know there's a problem via a guy with a thick (Russian?) accent leaving threats on your voice mail.

Don't give them any of your information.
They will likely know some piece of information about you, which they can easily Google.
Don't confirm any of that information, even if it is correct.
I am a tax attorney, and I'd love new business, but in this case you don't need me. There are no charges against you.
If you are frightened, call the IRS to verify if you really have any notices or warrants against you:

They're on a roll, they contacted me 3 times in that many days. A man named 'David Miller' with a thick India accent, I could hardly understand him and had to ask him to repeat what he was saying three times over. The number he's using is a Washington, D.C. number. Somehow, they find a way to route their calls through a number outside of the area where the real calls originate from. Today, I pressed him for further information and asked to speak to his supervisor. At first he insisted that wasn't possible and after many requests to speak to the supervisor, he put me on hold and another man identified himself as 'John Branko' and his title as "Sr.Officer". John Branko called from 202-241-3690 (ext.220) and 'John Branko' is at 202-241-3690 (ext.221) Funny, how close their extensions are. Anyway, he told me that there's a problem with my 2011-2012 income tax return and I should call to speak more to another IRS officer. David Miller knew my address, but nothing else. My husband got on the phone the 3rd time in a row they called and was angry and shouted at them to send something in the mail, and do not call again. I filed a complaint with http://www.econsumer.gov/english/

I got a vmail from 2012037843 saying they were from the IRS and that this was regarding a legal issue, so I called back, I asked who they were trying to reach, he knew my full name and address which got my attention. "Mark David" claimed he was calling from IRS and advised I willfully defrauded the IRS and owed $1500+. He further explained that they tried to send me the legal affidavit via subpoena but no one was able to receive it and I said well obviously we weren't home and he said that wasn't his problem. I tried to explain there are other forms of communication, they could fax or email the document right then but he insisted in reading this document and advised that the line was recorded for the IRS, so I listened, in a nutshell he claimed that I owed backdated taxes from 2008 to 2012 and needed to pay or fight in court, that it would be cheaper to settle out of court with them (the $1500) than pay lawyers which they emphasized would cost thousands more. He said that if I didn't choose to pay now that he will download my case to the authorities and they will be at my door in 45 minutes if I don't pay on the spot and if we hang up that they wouldn't be able to help me at that point in time claiming that my accounts will be frozen and that they will call immigration and mark my passport somehow so that I couldn't travel. I advised this could be a big misunderstanding, that if we miscalculated our taxes and we owe money to the IRS, sure we will pay but not until I see the "legal affidavit" they were telling me about, I explained that if people owe money you usually see the bill with terms and conditions. I further explained I have never heard the IRS scaring people to pay on the spot and that usually they give time for people to make the payment. At that point he passed me on to "Agent Wilson" who said the same things, but I insisted on getting a copy of this affidavit. When we hung up I did a search on this number and found it was a magic jack number. Unbelievable.

I called the IRS up using the number on their site on the spot, waited patiently on hold for 30 minutes to speak to someone, I explained the fraud attempt and was advised to email phishing@IRS.gov.

I've received many phone messages (on 1/29, 1/30, 1/31) from a fake IRS agent with a heavy Indian accent speaking about an urgent criminal matter and to call them immediately at 202-241-0262. I’ve looked up the number on the internet and found it to be part of a phishing phone scam.
