Last night I got two calls: 202-861-5879, and 504-861-5879. I checked the 202 call with the White Pages reverse number, and found out that the call came from Washington, D.C., and was a telemarketer. The 504 call had the ID "Loyola University", which was a lie; so was the number according to the University itself! The 504 call, according to White Pages, came from an unlisted landline in Kenner, Louisiana. What irked me most about the 504 call was that the phone rang 50X before it stopped! I hope that the real Loyola University can find out who the hacker is, and take strong action against him.

Last night, 11-13-2012, I got a call at 7:46 from 202-861-5879. At exactly the same time, I got a call from 504-861-5879! The call from 504 rang 50X until it finally stopped.
The information about the call from 202 is that it came from a landline in Washington, D. C., with no real ID. The caller ID for the 504 call showed what I know now is the spoofed ID of Loyola University, but the call came from an unlisted landline in Kenner, Louisiana (in a county next to New Orleans).
I have reported the call to the real Loyola U., 800notes, whocalled.us, the FTC and the FCC. The real Loyola University wrote to tell me "I have passed this information along to our office of Technology Services so that they can look into the matter to ensure that our number hasn't been compromised."
I hope that Loyola can get the goods on the hacker behind this call, and take strong action against him.

I just received a call (8-31-12) and have been receiving them for the last couple of weeks, usually around dinner time. I have raised the receiver and hit the # sign a few times in hopes that that would bump me off their computer, but no such luck. Today I called back and got the message that I'd reached a number that was disconnected or no longer in service. They obviously can call out and harras people, but we cannot get back to them to request they stop calling! Idiots!

1219HR 18APR2012 got called from 626-209-5661 to my landline phone that I pay an extra charge to keep un-published & unlisted. Caller ID: WIRELESS CALLER. No message on answering machine. All my phones are registered on the FTC "Do-Not-Call" list. All calls in this household go directly to the answering machine; family, friends, boss at work. I choose who to call back from only those individuals who leave a proper message on my answering machine with complete caller ID.

2:57 pm Got another call from 949-735-1171. When I answered, there was no response. But you could hear someone breathing. After about 10 seconds, a female voice said, "Good-bye," and hung up.

Tired of getting calls about our credit cards we have only one with a zero balance and I wished to God you would stop. What good does it do to be on no call list.

Called my home number three times in five minutes a little after 6:30pm. First two messages were call center background noise. Third time message was unintelligible due to distortion and callers heavy African accent (Nigerian?). Best I could tell, he was just asking me to call him back about some business deal. We are on state and federal do not call lists.
