We received two calls from this number (identified as "wireless caller") before 8:30 this morning. I picked up the first one, said "hello" once and waited for a response. After a few seconds, a computer generated female voice said "good-bye" and the call was terminated. The second call came in just a few minutes later. I clicked it off.

Reported hangup scammer (480)-309-3146 (Wireless Caller on Caller ID) that called from a Verizon Wireless mobile phone in Phoenix, AZ on Fri. 10/17/14 at 1:56pm on my unlisted phone to DONOTCALL.GOV - Caller didn't leave a message & I never answer unexpected harassing calls since then I've had to call my phone provider 3 times to report my phone & Caller ID not working (wires crossed at box in Apt. Community) & reset Caller ID - finally fixed problem & harassing callers stopped - call phone repair technician to check outside hookup at box since I will disconnect my phone if this isn't fixed now.

I get a call from this number, 918-570-5402, almost once a day, sometimes twice, and this has been going on for months. I never answer my phone anyway, unless I recognize the number or my caller id identifies them as someone I know. They never leave a message, and whatever automated system they are using knows to hang up before the answering machine engages. The caller id only identifies the phone number and that it is a "Wireless Caller".
I am on the DNC registry as well, and I can tell you that as long as I keep it updated it works - you do have to go back to DNC and re-register your phone numbers after a certain amount of time. I do not get calls from legitimate companies anymore. However... I am not sure that DNC can do anything about sneaky "companies" that use cell phones to do their dirty work.

Getting calls from this number. Post on another site says caller identified as State Highway Patrol asking for donations. We have received many calls at our home with the caller supposedly being Florida Police, Florida Police Union, Florida State Highway, Florida State Troopers, Florida Firefighters, etc. They have used many different numbers so we speculate that these calls are not legitimate: 239-220-5920; 941-205-0061; 239-324-9740; 305-602-3079; 941-462-1008; 813-413-4999; 813-444-5672 (Spoofed #).

Sounds like YET ANOTHER SCAM. Some BS about "Are you a middle-aged woman with vaginal mesh implant?" I'm on the Do Not Call list, so it probably is a scam. Blocked & reported.

Others have said that it is someone saying there is something wrong with their computer. If you do answer the call, which I wouldn't, simply say, "computer? I don't have a computer." BTW, not everyone today has a computer, I can name several people who don't have one.
