I received a automated call on my way back from lunch from (201) 441-4888 on my cell phone claiming that my debit card was being changed to store purchases only and that if I would like to prevent this from happening, I should press “1” to talk to a representative. There was no announcement concerning which card, nor what bank and from what I remember, my bank does not have my cell phone number. I immediately hung up and called the toll-free number on the back of my debit card and they confirmed that nothing was wrong with my card and that if there ever was a problem, the call would never be automated.
