I was just speaking with a friend that was a supervisor at one of these collection agencies. If your debt is discharged, don't even pick up the phone and talk to them! They will try to get you to admit that it was once your debt, so you will be on the hook to pay them again. They will do whatever they can to collect the debt, so don't trust them.
