They did the same to my sister. Said she was audited for 7 years worth of taxes and she's never worked never filed taxes and they ended up hanging up on me. When I called back to ask why he hung up and called him out on his fraudulent bullshit he hung up on me AGAIN! !!!

This sounds like a scam. The number called me twice today and left a voicemail. IRS is super muttered and there's a super long pause at the end of the message (about ten seconds). Definitely a scam.
