Received two calls before I called him back. Very rude and very hard to understand - foreign accent. Started reading the charges against me from taxes files between 2008 - 2012 and said I owed $3700.00. Unless I paid the police were being sent to arrest me. I asked for written documentation and said they mailed them - but I never received them - he told me to take it up with the post office. Thought it was a scam - I have been audited before and this is not the process! You always receive written notice and the IRS agents were actually nice to me!

After many calls at home, I returned his call. He described himself as an IRS employee, said they have audited my tax returns of the last 5 years and I owe IRS over $4000. He said police has been looking for me. He said he could stop furhter actions by police if I pay him this amount in cash within one day or 15% now in cash. He told me to take cash to the nearest CVS store, there another employee of IRS wiil take this amount and would give me a receipt. I know I owe no money to IRS. With speaker phone On I went to police officer in the parking lot. I told caller to identify himself to the police officer first. As officer said Hello line was disconneced.

I have received several calls from this number saying from IRS and they are bringing lawsuit against me. It is a scam and I am not calling it back but have been advised to report to FTC.gov.

They left me a message saying a need to call back the IRS. After calling back, the guy had an Indian accent, said his name was Remy. He was rude claiming I owe the IRS $3900 + $50 processing fee. He said there is a court day tomorrow (which was Saturday) and if I don’t pay this amount right now, he will send an email to the police to arrest me in addition to many other threats. He asked me to go to the bank right away and then CVS to send the cash. His story didn’t add up and I told him I can't pay anything now and then he hanged up. When I called the IRS, they told me I have no outstanding issues and my file is good. To my surprise when I called again, they still answer the phone and still claim to be with the IRS. When I tried to file a claim with 1-800-366-4484 (Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration), I was asked to leave message but the mailbox was full.
