I received a call today from an unknown number he had a heavy accent and said he was from the US Government grant department. He said that I was a good citizen and had not been to jail so I was on of 1500 people that get rewarded. I needed to call another number to collect my $7000. He said to call 206-453-0018. I thought it was funny so I called them. The woman who answered said I needed to go to western union to send them $250 then I would get $7250 back. I began laughing and told her ( Kathy Moore ) that she was full of crap and that it was a scam. Then I hung up. After that a man calls back he goes by Edward Cole and began arguing with me.

I got a call from 234566780 and this person with this very heavy indian accent claimed that he worked for the federal government. He said that I was one of those lucky individuals chosen to receive a grant of $7000 since I dont bave a criminal record and something about bankruptcy. He then asked
me how id like to receive the
money. I said cash of course. I
was given pin and a number to
call.

When I called the number (206-453-0018) this other man said I needed to purchase some card at dollar tree or walgreens and that I needed to deposit $200 inorder to get the grant. I was like I don't have $200. He said "mam you can't get the grant without the deposit. " this was definitely a scam. Why did I have to deposit money to get money. No sense.

I received a call today from 234566780 on my phone (weird) anyway I was told that I had been selected to receive a $7000.00 Grant because I was a good citizen, payed my taxes and had not been to prison. He asked how I would like to receive my money and I said cash of course. He then gave me another # to call 206-453-0018 with a confirmation # AN101. I called the # from a different telephone # and gave my confirmation # and of course they could not find me and I refused to give them my # that they called me on and I got immediately cursed out and I was told I was wasting his time and if I didn't want the money then to hang up and he hung up on me. They knew my address, email and all of this is new as of this year.

A man with a VERY heavy accent called telling me he was from the US Government and I had been selected to receive a $7000.00 grant. Said it's not a loan, I can do with it as I want - but can't buy drugs, alcohol or firearms with it... I get this money because I'm a good US citizen and I pay my taxes, vote, and haven't been arrested... It was almost funny.

He gave me another number to claim my winnings - 206 453 0018 (a number in Washington state). I called that number (not expecting to really GET the money - just wanted to play along and find out what the scam was) - and another person (female) with a heavy accent told me the same thing. They offered me ways to get my money are: by check - direct deposit - or cash. For giggles, I said cash.

She directed me to go to the store and purchase some green in color (emphasized this MANY times) - money card - and deposit $300.00 in that account. She claims that this is a 'good faith' transaction to prove I'm who I say I am...

After I hung up, I just shook my head wondering how many foolish people really fall for this...
