“Telephone scam By: Anonymous Regarding: KBK InfoTech Date occurred: 11/14/13 Posted:11/16/13 10:26pm Damage: $0.00 My experience was just as others... a "Mr. mac " (Mm) called me, represented his company being aligned with Microsoft and they had received error messages from my computer, and if I would go to my computer he would talk me through the steps to remove the spyware and viruses. When I told him I was unavailable (as I knew this was a scam) he gave me his phone number: 206-462-5449. After I looked at their bad reputation on the web, I called the phone number. It rang at least 10 times, and when it was picked up, it was just "Hello?" - no company name was announced. The man pretended to be Mm. I insisted to be connected with Mm; there was hesitation, mumbling in a foreign language, and the "correct" MA was obviously handed the phone. I pretended I was at my computer and He asked told me to press control+"the flag key"+R. I pretended nothing happened, so they wanted me to go to a website to download software that would allow them online access (I did NOT) and he indicated that there was a password on there and to give it to them. At that point I told them I knew they were scammers and that I had seen the complaints made on the web and I, too, was going to make complaints. He started yelling and when I said, "Shame on you, you will be caught," he hung up. I waited 10 minutes and called back, but there was no answer, nor any voicemail availability. NO LEGITIMATE COMPANY WILL *EVER* CALL YOU!! Never download ANYTHING from a phone caller! Don't be scammed! I was left with the infamous blue screen facing hours of frustration trying to clean up the mess he left me. Tech's name is Jeff Ipkiss (425) 998-1031 He is a criminal!
