Received scam caller from (209)-631-2059 AT&T Mobile in Merced, CA with (California on Caller ID) & didn't leave a message on voicemail & my phone in unlisted - since unwanted scammer called two different times on Wed. 12/3/14 at 2:53pm & Fri 12/5/14 at 8:59am - I never answer to unscrupulous scammers & reported to DONOTCALL.GOV - Message to scammers: DO NOT CALL. In December 2011 I received email about computer problems with a similar phone call & actually had my computer corrupted with a virus & hacked down to the "motherboard" because I was using "free" anti-virus & had to buy a new computer in January 2012 & "buy" more anti-virus (I was told to never use "free" anti-virus since the hackers know how to hack it).

Reported this on another similar site too. Just got a call from this number. Caller ID said "Unavailable - 209-631-2059". Though it was unfamiliar to me, I answered. After a few suspicious moments a man with a thick Indian accented asked for me by name. I said "that's me" and he began to tell me that there was some problem with some Microsoft Windows file on my computer. It was already clear it was a scam call, but I responded with the truth, "I don't have Microsoft Windows on any of my computers. I've been a Mac user for years." Then he said "I know you are a Mac user, but—" and I interrupted him and said "And I know you are a scam call so I'm hanging up!" And I did.

The FTC "DO NOT CALL" list DOES NOT WORK! I have filed multiple complaints and continue to receive 'illegal' calls of all types, more than ever.
The DO NOT CALL List is a PLACEBO!

You have to report them to THE FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION.
Please call The Federal Trade Commission. The more calls they get, the better chance of the scammers being shut down.

I have told this person to stop calling for Elizabeth Cooper. I do not know this person and that I would report them to FtC. They didn't care

The caller id gave the number but no name. When I answered someone seemed to be there but wouldn't say anything. So I asked if he was too stupid to say anything. He, it (a robo call misfiring?), she just seemed to hang on.

WARNING!!! Don't give this scam artist your personal information: Social Security Number, Credit Card Number, etc. PLEASE call the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION at (877) 382-4357 and complain. The more people who call, the more likely the scam artists will be shut down.
