Everyone receiving calls from this number should call Microsoft Corporation @ 1-800-642-7676 (select technical support for Windows), since they are representing themselves as agents of Microsoft Windows. I filed a complaint today, and they are sending me an email to file an official complaint, and have assigned a case number to my complaint. Microsoft is aware of these scams, and are working to catch these scammers.

They bothered to call me at 22:54 on a Friday night. Did not leave a message but you could hear them in the background.

I filed a call trace today for this number, and will follow-up with a police report--especially since they admitted to me that it was a scam call for the purpose of stealing my identity. In addition, if you research the number on opensear.ch.com, this is what appears: Allison Kolar, 829 Yellowstone Road, Valparaiso, Indiana 46385, 219-548-9653. When they call me again, I'm going to ask them if they can accept a certified letter at this address with the request that they never call me again.

I am on the Do Not Call Registry. This call came in at 2:58 pm, Friday, 10/10/14; and my Caller ID indicated the following: Valparaiso, IN, 219-548-9653. The foreign-sounding man asked for Lynn Cook. I have been getting calls for Lynn Cook for over ten years. Apparently, she used to have my now-unlisted phone number. Whenever I get calls for Ms. Cook, the fun begins! I really enjoy messing with their heads; i.e., today I asked them if this was regarding a scam from Africa. Amazingly, he went along with my humor; and told me that it was a scam from India--not Africa. I then proceeded to ask him if he was going to try to get my Social Security number, bank account numbers, address, mother's maiden name, and my state of birth so that they could steal my identity. He replied affirmatively, at which time I wished him a nice day. He then also wished me a nice day, and we both hung up. You have to play with their heads! One time when they asked for Lynn Cook, I told them that Lynn Cook had just died; and I was taking care of her estate. Another time I told them my name was Betty, and they must have the wrong number. A couple of times, they told me that they were aware that I was experiencing a problem with my computer. One time I told them I didn't own a computer, and another time I thanked them profusely for letting me know my computer was bad, and indicated that I would destroy my computer immediately! DON'T GET MAD AT THESE GUYS; JUST MESS WITH THEIR HEADS. IF WE ALL DID THAT, MAYBE THEY WILL STOP CALLING.
