I recently received a phone call from the "IRS" from Washington state. Just for the thrill of it, I called that number back. A male voice answered the phone, and told me that if I don't make a payment, I will be facing prosecution. I explained that I don't owe any money to the "IRS," and they don't make phone calls. Also, I don't live in Washington state. Again, this man told me to make a payment, and when I told him that I was going to get in touch with law enforcement regarding this issue, and I will have him prosecuted. He grew angry with me, and hung up.
First off, I'm NOT STUPID!! Why would the "IRS" want to contact me, regarding a debt-especially when it's out-of-state?! I hope that whoever is the "master" mind of this scam, needs to be prosecuted.
