This person with a very thick accent keeps calling my work number. He threatens me with it being the final call and tells me I will be sorry if I don't return the call immediately. I haven't called back because I don't have any outstanding bills or anything they could want. I was thinking of having my attorney call them, but if it is a scam there is no reason to. What I wonder is if I should call them back and let them know it is against the law to call and threaten me at work. They have never called my home or my cell
I received a call from a guy with a very garbled accent, stating that I needed to call them back immediately; unfortunately, I returned the call and found myself on the receiving end of an attempted scam. He said I owed money, that a warrant was being sworn out with three counts of fraud. He agreed to let me call back - I notified the attorney general in Missouri, the FTC, and also called the company he said I owed the money. Interestingly, all three sources told me this is a scam, and to avoid giving them any access to my bank account. FYI, when asked, the individual who called refused to provide any written notice or verification. I am told the best thing to do is just ignore these calls in the future. The company they said I owed the money does not even do business in my state . . . .

FIRST TIME I GOT CALL OCT 09 FROM THIS COMPANY THEY WERE IN CALIFORNIA SAYING I OWE MONEY AND IF NOT I WILL BE ARRESTED IN 2 DAYS WITH 3 COUNTS OF CHARGES. THEY DID NOT WANT TO SHOW PROOF WHO THEY ARE. 2 DAYS AGO I GET A CALL FROM THIS # FROM NEW YORK, SAME PEOPLE (MIDDLE EASTERN VOICES) STATES THE SAME THING. I MENTION I GOT CALL LAST YEAR AND I HAD BANKRUPTCY LAWYER LOO INTO IT AND I WAS TOLD IT WAS A SCAM. THEY HUNG UP ON ME

This guy that called had a very thick accent and he stated that I owed this payday loan company $800 and I need to pay his company or he would send to the courts and I would have to pay $5000. He said that payday loan company is AACA, which I have nver heard of. I told him never to call my work again and hing up.
