Received a call from this number on my answering machine. The voice mail claimed it was an urgent matter from the US Treasury Department demanding immediate attention to avoid appearing before a local magistrate or grand jury. The Treasury Department is the department the IRS belongs to but there is no such thing as a local magistrate or grand jury related to IRS matters. The IRS will not call -- they will send a letter. Do not be taken in by the call.
