this was an automated call that reached me on my cell phone. Advised this was the second call to warn me that the warranty on my vehicle has expired but could be extended. Options were to press 1 to speak to a rep, or press 2 if this call was made in error. Without pressing anything, the message continued by asking if the year of my vehicle was between 2005 and 2009, press 1 for yes, press 2 for no. I hung up at this point - I don't have any vehicle warranty.

This is from Extended Car Warranty, saying your warranty is about to expire and this was the last call before they take you off their list. Funny, I don't have a car warranty. It does give you the option to press 1 to speak to a rep. or press 2 to be removed from their calling list. They called my work number two other times in the past few days and this time I finally picked up and hopefully it won't call back

They call to try to get you buy a warranty on your car. However, they have no idea what kind of car you have or what the year is, so how do they know your warranty is going to expire. This is a scam they are probably trying to get your information to put a lien on your vehicle or steal your identity. Be smart if your warranty was up then you would get a call from the place you bought your car.
