The recorded message left by the caller claims that the IRS is filing a lawsuit, and it says I should call them. A little research put me at ease. The IRS nearly always notifies people by mail, and it does not just jump to an "I'm suing you" mode. Don't let the scam scare you or intimidate you into paying out money.

I received a call saying that IRS has filed a law suit against me because I have not paid the taxes correctly and that I have to pay 5k+ immediately...otherwise lein on my bank account etc. My attorney said, it is a tax scam.
