Best thing to do when you get one of these texts (or emails) is to just block the number and delete the text without a reply to their question. Replying No or if email unsubscribe alerts the spammer/scammer that the number or email address is in use. They send thousands of these texts or emails out at a time. If they make a sale then that's gold if they only get a no or unsubscribe it's still valuable to them. Even the list they generate of unasigned numbers and nonexistent/dead email addresses are still of some worth they can strike them off their lists and Not waste time resending to them.

Number 1-515-573-6816 sent me a text at 10:21am *DISCOUNT TICKETS EVENTS* - US - SPORTS - CONCERTS - COMEDIANS - WOULD YOU LIKE TEXT MESSAGES? YES OR NO?
I have no idea who this is. I selected 'NO' but they are definitely sweeping phone numbers to try and target innocent people.

But know that they may use multiple attempts to the same number or email in order to see if it really is dead. So blocking and deleting one message doesn't mean that you are off the hook from that individual or group. Something as innocuous as "hi not sure if this is the right number or not i might have written it down wrong. If u met me (anyname) aka me lol at a bar downtown on (anyday) let me know. Thanks" could an be effective social engineering message that would provide them with the confirmation of an active number. If you suddenly get a slight increase in spam messages and emails then it could be a clever ruse to gather information but could also be an innocent mistake or you were so drunk that night you cant remember what happened. Or if like myself it's time to add another layer to your tinfoil hat and setup perimeter defences.
