i had a dept from an old radio shack account back when they where still in canada. i didn't know at the time that 3 years after the last payment you can tell them to screw themselves over all you want.. i paid guys like this twice over and i still get annoyed about that dept... They can't do anything else than call you, if you are tired of that, you can send them a letter from a lawyer and ask them to stop all communications, but it works only for 3 months. You can try setting up a voicemail on voip.ms its 1 or 2$ a months for a phone number, they even got Call Center features if its your fancy... Anyway, give them that number, and change your other number so they can't call you back at that number. There... Peace of mind... You can even route the calls to your email address and then into your spam box... ;)

A pre-recorded message whre my name is inserted along with a file number and a request for me to call back.
Since my number is confidential, only one the companies I deal with could provide them with my informations. I recently change my address at the following companies:
- Wawanesa (who's trying to lure me with a discount to give them access to my credit record withouit any good reason as they have been fully paid for the last 20 years).
-CAA Québec, i would not be surprised to find out they resell listings to the agencies.
-Hydro Québec : unlikely

Yeah, well, DCA is for : Debt Control Agency .......... DCA is an Agency ... a SMALL TIME collection agency that collects purchased accounts from Banks and retail companies like cell phone past due accounts. All of that stuff is way past the legal statue of limitation in Quebec which is 3 years after the last payment. Call the OPC and place a complaint right away, if you want to pursue it !
First, they don't mail the initial letter has the law indicates, although their system will show that it was mailed, they do not ... in order to save the money involved because it's thousands of files monthly, therefore, they save well over 100 000 $ + a year in not respecting the mandatory provincial regulations !
This agency is NOT trusted by the CIBC, TD, RBC or Rogers for example to collect actual dues like trusted agencies such as CBCC, TCR or ARO, just to name a few.
DON'T GIVE THEM A CENT ! THEY ALREADY PAID YOUR DEBT TOWARDS THE CREDITOR, MEANING TO WHOM YOUR OWED IT TO ! IT IS STATE BARRED !

Called me and introduced him as debt collection agency. I inquired about his office address but he tried to dodge the question rather Asked me to confirm my information but I insisted to confirm their address first which was not confirmed and end of call.
