I have been getting these calls for about a month. They are total scammers. I spoke with a VERY well known & respected attorney in Mpls. that specializes in FDCPA cases. He informed me that this is a scam & they purchase your personal information from internet pay day loan companies. Never pay them a dime. Tell them that you will NEVER EVER pay them anything & tell them to stop calling. They will move on to somebody else in hopes of scaring them into making payment.

Scam! say they are with Federal Department of Legal Prevention and they are acting as a debt collector for a pay day loan service (which I have never used). Made many threats. Spoke with confidence and a very heavy accent. Foreign for sure. Left comments on voice mail such as "if your not running or hiding anything then you really don't have any reason not to call us back". COMPLETELY BOGUS! No federal agency acts as a debt collector for a private company. If you get a call from the Department of Legal Prevention I suggest you do as I did. Report them to the General Attorneys office immediately!
