This guy also left a message on my answering machine...but I think it was from 1-416-511-8946. He said that it was Eric Star (not clear) calling from Revenue Canada, that someone (??) was under arrest and that my address was "under federal investigation"

1-800-267-6999 is a complete call fraud operation. Please see the note below to see how the scam works:

These guys keep calling..... and calling...... and calling! You think the would give up? This is exactly how the scam works. This number is used by a "call fraud operation" from caller ID 1-800-267-6999. They want you to return their call at this police officers "direct line" number 613-693-1423. It is answered by a guy (obviously in a call center from the background noise) with a very thick East Indian accent who can barely speak English and usually can't say your name? He says he is with the "Criminal Investigations" and that a warrant has been issued for your arrest due to "Tax Fraud" & "Tax Evasion". They make threats to have you arrested by your local police. They said "you must call us now @ 613-693-1423 to avoid being arrested"? It must be an operation trying to extort money. It took a while, but I reported then to the RCMP and local police.

If you are bored and "want to have some fun", call this fellow "from a blocked number" and lead him on. Tell him "you want to pay a large amount of back taxes". :-) This fellow just comes unglued and gets all upset swearing away making very nasty threats! Hey, I say keep calling him...... if he keeps calling us! :-)

Hopefully they will eventually quit calling and move on to some other scam? At least we have this scam figured out!
