By the number of comments below, "Martin" made a lot of calls today. Evidently, his "intention to contact" me was to warn me not "to avoid initial appearance before the magistrate or grand jury" because this was "a criminal offense," and blah, blah, blah, "the U.S. Treasury." Just to make sure, he left three long-winded messages, which was helpful, due to his thick accent...

This individual called 3xs today. the accent is a thick Spanish accent. Stated (unable to understand) that if I didn't contact them, that it was a federal offense, and I would have to go before the ' magistrate'."...what ever that is. He also began to laugh a little when he stumbled on the name 'Steve Martin'. I called the number back, but the phone rang approx.6xs and then to a dialtone.

Some idiot with a foreign accent telling my how he's trying to help me from going to court over an IRS debt that I know I don't owe. Of course, I have to call him and send money. Our government is absolutely worthless if they can't catch these people and prosecute them. Worthless.

Many felony counts against this person. Blackmail, fraud, impersonating a federal agent, racketeering, etc., etc., etc.
