IL, USA. Answered and they asked for my sister by her first name and I said they have the wrong number. She then said her full name and I asked what it was regarding. She said it was a legal matter and I said it doesn't involve me. I rarely speak with my sister and she didn't use my name or number for anything, so this bill collector doesn't know the law to try and hunt down her relatives, considering it's not even the same last name. I told her to F off and hung up and then blocked the number. They do this bs to try and intimidate people and get relatives to worry and give the persons number-which I don't even have anyway. It's rare a debt collector will go this far, so I'll contact my sister and document this and she can use it against them; in the end she won't need to pay due to the collector breaking the law, so it's a good thing when the collector loses or even has to pay-hopefully it'll put their seedy collector scam out of business.
