Caller identified himself as Det. Ed Hanaker, and he needed my help contacting a neighbor about an ongoing investigation/case in New York NY. Said he didn’t want to have to send out a Duty Sheriff and asked if I would leave his name and number on their door. Not knowing who he really was, I refused. He then starts asking me if I was an American, trying to make me feel guilty to get me to go along with his scam. I called the number back and was able to confirm that he wasn’t who he said he was and that it is a Collection Agency. My last words to him were I respectfully request you "Cease Desist" calling me for assistance with your case.
