You don't need to have debts to be harrased by a colection agency. I got harrased because the agency couldn't collect payments from someone who I used to know. I told them that that person didn't live with, and never live with me. It puzzled me how the collector got hold on my number. Exasperated, I finally told them that if they knew my number; they could send the 'bill' to my address; (they could easily found it, right?). I would like to show it to my lawyer and process it right away and prove it that I didn't make such debts. That was the end of the harassing calls. To this day, I don't know whether that was a real debt agency or someone posing as one to scare innoncent, non- english speaking people to pay interests, charges, etc that their close friends or members of family did. Just sharing.
