Today at 8:36am, someone with a middle eastern accent called asking for my Chase Bank account number to "verify" delivery for my new MediCare card. (I'm only 29 and I do not have a bank account) The moment I heard him say "account number", I hung up. He then proceeded to call 2 or 3 more times. Annoyed, I answer and decided to have some fun with the guy...I told him my account number was, "3 smiley faces, the letter 'R', and the number 12 and a half." lol
Confused, he then tells me to get my checkbook and read him the numbers found under the "memo line"...again, I tell him "3 smiley faces, the letter 'R', and the number 12 and a half." We go back and forth with this 3 or 4 times more, until he is beyond confused, and tells me he is going to transfer me his supervisor.
His supervisor asks (...or reads from the "How to phone scam for dummies" work sheet lol) the same exact question, verbatim, as the previous guy, and I give him the same answer as before.
Back and forth we go...until he asks, "what does that mean?" I told him that's the account number he asked me for. He starts to say something, then I gasp and say "Crap! I know why now...its because the third smiley face isn't a smiley face, its a winky face...HA!"
At this point he decides to start over, and asks me if I am sure its my Chase Bank checkbook I'm looking at...
"Checkbook? I thought you said FaceBook..."
With a frustrated sigh, I hear him say, "oh my god..."
I chuckle, and begin my closing statement:
"...haha...hey, you're getting off easy by only feeling stupid right now...just be thankful I'm not a lowlife, retarded piece of sh*t like you, because your bank account would already be empty, and I'd be laughing at your stupidity even more so than I already am. You ready...?"
"..BAHAHAHAHAHAHA....."
I'm not sure exactly what he was saying as he was hanging up, but his tone told me that it probably wasn't how he just made a really cool new friend...lmao
oh, and upon calling this number back, it rings twice, and the call ends so....
