"Jude" called at 8:30 a.m. and left a voice mail message about my "application for a cash advance loan." When returned, a repeating message identified the company as SPECKTRUM-ONLINE. A Google look-up lead to a web address www.cashformenow.com, clearly a scam web site that asks for all the information necessary to drain your bank account and credit card every payday for the next century. When I called back I was immediately asked for my social security number (!) and when I said I don't give that out over the phone I was asked for the phone number that they originally called. I asked the guy on the other end of the line, who had a thick Southeast Asian (Indian) accent, where the company was located, he said, "I'll look up the company address" and disconnected the call. The web site has a short testimonial video of an attractive white guy with a British accent, but it was obviously recorded in a bathroom!
