My sister got a call from this number, she wasn't home to get the call so they left a message with a case #, they said that there is a litigation against her and that she needed to call back to settle an HSBC debt immediately papers have been drawn and they are ready to serve her. She had at one time a debt with HSBC due to credit card fraud, she settled with them and has all canceled checks and documentation that clears her obligation with HSBC.
This is a story that has been going on for over a year, however they were calling from a different number in the past. A google search of that number had all complaints indicating a Scam and many with had the almost identical story as my sister. This new number has only been registered for two days with no known company affiliated to it. I returned the favor and called them back about six times, blocking my number and using different voices trying to get information from them. They wouldn't give me a physical address stating they were a call center for legal offices called JENNINGS.....This is a SCAM...Not sure what I can do to stop them but you can bet your bottom dollar that tomorrow HSBC will be getting informed that since this scam company is using their name in trying to resolve a "debt" they better make sure it stops or they will be looking at a lawsuit for 1. selling my sister's information after a debt was resolved and 2. deformation of character since she is being harassed with calls at her workplace and homeowners association.
