Mike Gold invited me to join the "club" (with the rest of you) via the rambling message he left on my phone at 2:24 today (Philly Time). It contains endearing catchphrases such as "Due to actions in the past, for some reason you've been placed on this paperwork for further action". *** "I'm using you as a bridge of communication, a bridge of contact." *** "My particular client is under the impression that you and this individual are in cahoots as far as what transpired; once again I thought that was very unfair." It truly is a ridiculous message.
He has a gruff "Joe Friday" type of voice and mannerism, and may have some reverb/echo effect on his voice to make it sound more frightening & authoritative. It's comical. Don't fall for it. Don't phone him back. Don't answer the call. If possible, put a "call block" on his number. Also remember to Delete his phone number from your "recent calls" list so you don't accidently dial it back.
Again, DON'T FALL FOR IT!! Ask yourself why this individual is leaving the same, identical recording on all our phones, all over the country. (Plus, there are a million other glaring irregularities about his message and overall approach, when you think about it.) This guy has never seen the inside of a Law School in his entire life. The inside of a PRISON, maybe, but not the inside of a Law School.
I've gotten pretty adept with filing complaints against these sort of strong-arm scammers, and "I know the ropes" by now. The FCC and FBI telecommunication / wirefraud complaint sites both provide the means to attach an audio recording to the complaint. I made a .WAV audio recording of his 69 second message, and submitted it along with my complaint to both agencies. This has produced results for me in the past.
