SCAMMER ALERT
Got an call an hour ago. I picked it up since it had a local area code.
RED FLAG # 1: The CallerID was a local KANSAS telephone area code 913-284-0154, yet the CallerID text stated "Kansas City, MO". Because of this, I listened without talking, and the automated message started and then hung itself up after repeating three times. The message stated I had a possible collection and to call 844-705-0290 to verify and/or remove my name from this list.
(I DID NOT RESPOND WHILE ON THE PHONE OR AFTER THE FACT).
RED FLAG # 1: Stated I had a possible collection(I don't owe anyone)... yet it didn't identify the company or collection agency that was making the claim.
Solution: I did a Google search and found this website.
FYI: The tele number was a brand new (and additional) number for me. The last resident had it for "over 60 years". They (and I) are debt free and I only secured this tele number because it had a unique number pattern (aka: easy to remember).
All other posts indicate this is a recent scam.
