After seeing this number could possibly be a scam, I called the number on the back of my statement to see if they had already sent me to collections.
Yes, in fact, they will send your account to collections at 10-12 days late. The lady told me 3 times they use an autodialer and will not stop until the bill is paid. She then wanted to verify every piece of information about me and tried to get me to pay over the phone.
Very strange days we live in. I have only $3000 debt with them and am hardly ever late. I feel sorry for people with more debt and in this economy..... wow.
Chase is playing hardball.
Turn them into every agency the above poster listed!

I have recently contacted a law firm in Chicago to start a class action lawsuit against Chase as they are violating collection laws by failing to report via mail that you have been sent to collections and that they do not stop contacting you after you tell them to stop. It is illegal for them to keep contacting and harassing you if you tell them to stop.

I am tired of getting over 9 calls every day when I explain that I have no job, have been unemployed for over 2 years and have no money in my bank account. I send them money every time I get a dime. I have a bachelor degree and I cant even get a job at Mc Donald'd or Wal-Mart. I have been searching for any job that will take me so that I can pay my debt. These people are predatory lenders and dont care. Im tired of it.

@Tim az have you tried calling the number back? Maybe keep a call log on paper so you have a record of reference if you hve to raise the stakes. A call frequency like yours has got to be brutal. Good luck.

I have been getting calls from this Number and there is no message after the tone on my caller ID. this # has called me from 7:30a every 15-20 minutes until abt 10:30p monday thru sunday. I have looked up this # on Google Search, I see a lot of people have been getting this same number and are complaining about this. This is not the first # I have complained abt and I had to have my phone company block both of these #.
Is there anyone of Authority that can do something about these calls????

hi, when i called back the very same number, they said they were an international telecomunication service called vmpt. then they gaveme 18001001 numer that has only eight digits so how do i call. i'm sick of this stuff. does the do not call really work? i'm registered, but it doesn't help. when i do answer the phone nothing.very madning.

when i called the number back it said it was out of service, then gave me an eight digit number for further info.well of course i cant call with only eight digits. i sure wish this stuff would stop. i have all my phones registered on do not call. now what can i do?

i get the calls 20 times a day and had to shut off my phone. i am considering suing chase as the banking dept. wrote me saying i owed them nothing. they claim i owe nothing but they are billing me for things i never purchased which is crooked. chase is a crooked outfit. you cannot collect from a debtor if they never picked up the thing but chase thinks you can.

I am receiving calls from this number daily. On average these calls occur eight times a day and are hang-up calls. On one occasion a live person called from this number and identified themselves as being from Chase Bank asking for payment and then hung up. WHAT YOU CAN DO:
1. If you have Caller ID or the person calling is identified as being with "Chase Bank," contact Chase Bank (in person or by phone) to report the number and problem. 1-877-CHASEPC (1-877-242-7372)
2. Contact your local phone company and report the problem. Ask the company to block this number and to set up a track or trace on your phone line.
3. Contact your local law enforcement agency and ask to file a report. It is against the law in California and other states to make harrassing calls.(California Penal Code section 653m, Penal Code section 422-422.1)
4. Register your home and personal phone number(s) with the National Do Not Call Registry operated by the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). Online registration is available at the FTC's web site, www.donotcall.gov
5. Contact your State Attorney General's Consumer Protection department.
6. File a report with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC). http://esupport.fcc.gov/complaints.htm.
*Note: My local phone company stated that this number has effectively found a way around having their calls blocked, which makes it even more important for each one of us to pursue this by reporting it to the appropriate authorities mentioned above in order to put a stop to this.

Well, they have finally flipped my switch. I don't own, have never owned, nor will own a Chase Bank Credit Card. I have no debt with them either. I believe it to be a scam sooooo, I am going to call them and bother them to DEATH. I will spew curse words, blow whistles, spew racial tirades, rattle off death threats, etc. hang up and do it all over again. It's time for some street justice.
