Someone called my number for my husband and said it was about debt for a credit card he never had. He also indicated that they were ready to "serve papers" to my husband for the unpaid debt. Because we've had ID theft issues in the past, I got as much info as I could from the caller, hung up, and then tried to verify the info. I cannot find anything for a collection agency (or any business, for that matter) by the name "Hamilton and Holt," and there are a lot of other scam reports on the internet for this same phone number, 855-201-7437. When I called the number back, the woman who answered just said, "Hello?" without a company name. I asked which company I called; she immediately became very combative and said they represent 6 different companies. When I asked her to list them so I could verify the name of the company I was given, she refused to do so. I told her I would file a consumer complaint and hung up. As soon as I hung up, I got a return call from an unknown number, and a male caller said he was returning my phone call but again, refused to provide a company name.

Someone called my parents asking for me. Said that they are trying to serve me.
Said to have me call because there is a claims case against me in court.
They would not give their name, company name or any other information. Just this 855 number.
The man told my parents that he didn't know what it was about because he just received the envelope but to tell me to call them because they have a judgement against me. Sounds like Fraud.
