I was left a message to call someone back from PNC fraud protection services at this 855 number. When I did the man on the phone asked for my full social security number and/or my full credit card number in order to verify my account. I told him that if he was from my bank he should already have my info and that I would give the last 4 of my cc number, And he began to argue saying he only needed it for "verification purposes", and that they needed to look up my account so they could let me know what kids of fraudulent activity there was on My account. When I told him I was not comfortable with giving my full numbers over the phone they told me to hang up and call the number on the back of my PNC card if it would make me feel better. While I was on the phone with him I went online and checked my activity on my account and nothing suspicious showed. So I hung up and called PNC. As soon as I talked to a rep, she told me there was nothing flagged and they would put a note in my account saying someone was attempting to access my account. The rep suggested that I keep track of my transactions in the next couple days and call them immediately if there is any suspicious activity. I suggest all of you that are reading this to take the same pro cautions I did to protect yourself from these thieves.
