This is a scammer. Do not call them back or give them any information about yourself, your debts, your SS#, or anything else. Call your state Attorney General, local police, state police, and your state representative and have a case set up against these people. They are nothing more than scammers who may have bought your information from some third party, and now they're using it against us. I get these calls daily, and I'm going after them. No need for a lawyer, just use the channels that are already set up for consumer protection.

Caller called my job stating this is Ms Perkins calling about check fraud.Please call back and good luck.
She called my job and I retrieved the number from my caler id. I called back stating never to call me at work again and that if I owe money send me a letter via mail but upon her request of a credit card number I said abosolutely NO and she said well this is going to garnishment at 25% and I told her my attorney would contact her. She left a message that said check fraud then stated it was for pay day loan I told her she was misrepresentating information.

IS THIS A SCAM- STATED I OWED 2400.00 FOR A 300.00 LOAN. CALLED COMPANY THE STATED THEY REPRESENTED AND WAS TOLD I WOULD NEVER OWE THAT AMOUNT FOR A 300.00 LOAN. ASKED FOR WRITTEN PROOF AND THEY SAID THEY DID NOT HAVE TO SEND SINCE THEY WERE A PRE GARNISHMENT COMPANY AND COULD WORK OUT PAYMENTS AND REDUCE AMOUNT TO 2000.00- I KEPT SAYING THEY NEEDED TO SEND WRITTEN CONFIRMATION. SAID I HAD BEEN NOTIFIED BY E-MAIL. I TOLD HER NO AND TO SEND IT AGAIN. STATED SHE DID NOT HAVE TO AND WISHED ME LUCK.

I received a call at work from this number, a Ms. McGarrey or McGarret stating that there was going to be a 25% wage assigment order placed on my paycheck. It's my understanding that they need a court order for this. I have never at any time received a cash advance or "pay day loan". This is harrassment and absurd. I researched EW Collections (since I saw previous posters stating that reps had given this as a company name) and found the following site:

If you go to their "contact us" section there are 3 emails listed. I sent them all an email simply stating I was not sure whether they were legitimate or not but obviously companies they represented were not. I also gave them the phone number of 877-601-5871 that called me. Whether anything will come of it or not, I don't know. But this is making me stomach sick that so many people can be targeted like this and threatened when they're innocent. If you have a few minutes, please contact them!! Maybe if they get enough emails it will spur an investigation.
