My landlord received a call from "Investigator Tom Waters" regarding "a stolen car." Wisely, my landlord refused to give out any of my personal information and took down his number (888 265 0787 ext. 210) and said she would give me the message. He gave her the case number 12-28285. From my internet search, I have learned that this is NOT an investigator but may be some kind of collector. Can't I sue them for lying on me to my landlord in a way that could have jeopardized my ability to continue to rent from her?
