I got a similar phone call from Anderson, SC (caller ID). He had a heavy Indian accent and claimed to be in California. He said that he represented "Windows Fast Service". He claimed my computer had malware and wanted to verify some computer code. He said I could call him back at 888-771-6962. I hung up.

This person called me and said my computer is infected with something that can make it crash at any moment, and wants to guide me through removing this threat from my computer. He claims he is from Microsoft and provided me with an employee number WIND249, but I don't know if it is legit.

From 12/14/14 “heavy Indian accent employee number WIND249 called claiming that he is with Windows SSL support. He said my computer was sending messages alerting about a problem; that I had corrupted files, etc.”
