This guy replied to a tutoring ad I put out. He wanted to FedEx me a lot of money before we met. Wanted to know my full name and address. This is a scam. Avoid.

I just recieved the same phone call.. I questioned this person several times, regarding who he was, who was sueing me, and any contact information... He basically told me i was going to jail,and have a lawyer and attorney (as u stated and any smart person knows it means the same) present while they come to my home... I knew right then it was a.scam.. So i began to ask more questions, he began to get frustrated, and then hung up... I tried calling back, he asked me to please stop calling... I am going to go futher into this with law enforcement, and investigations.. Lets just say they called the wrong person this time... I need the practice.. Thank you for you post about this terrible scam.

Just had the same law firm call me stating their were lawsuits being filed against my social security number. I googled the number and found it was a hoax. This person has also called my number offering payday loans,vehicle loans, I'm pretty sure its the same people,he sounds the same and gives different names

. I missed a call and had a request for me to call them back.. A “BRUCE WILLIAMS” was the name that was given for me to call back at some “Freeman Law Office” out of Lawrence, Kansas. So I call back and asked to speak with this Bruce. He isn’t there or whatever. So the guy asks who I am. I just say my first name. then I asked what this was in regards to. And he wouldn’t give me an answer. He says, “you called this number right? Freeman Law Office.” I said, “Yes but someone from here called me and I would like to know why.” He said, “I will just have Bruce call you.” I said, “ this is my work number and would appreciate you not calling here and change the number.” He says, “Yeah I’ll do that.” And he hung up on me! – didn’t even take a number for me to give him…
In the meantime while waiting for a callback, I google this number: 785-669-4802. It’s a hoax. Traced back to some mobile number. But then I looked further down my screen and there was a thing- Complaints. Said basically the exact thing that just happened to me and the EXACT SAME number! So I clicked on it. And BOOM!!! A whole site full of complaints about this happening to others.
So anyways this “BRUCE WILLIAMS” calls me back and I had Wanda answer it. She was very stern and strict asking them who they were and why they were calling and that they shouldn’t be calling my work number, yada yada yada. She told them we knew that they were a scam and that we are were going to report them to consumer protection. She then transferred the call to me so I could tell them the same thing. He was very rude to me. I said, “Hello”. He asked if it was me. I said “yes. What’s this in regards to?” He said that I’m being sued. I asked for what. He says, “You haven’t heard of this case before?” I said, “Um no. And I know that you’re a scam. I googled your number and came up with a mobile number and other complaints about you.” He says, “You think this is a scam? Well then you better prepare and get a lawyer and attorney (which of course we know is the same thing) and I’ll see you in court.” I asked,” what do I need a lawyer for?” He says, “ I don’t want to talk to you anymore. See you in court!” and hung up on me. That’s the just of what was said anyways. May not be EXACTLY but pretty darn close!..

We have been getting calls from these people on and off for months now from 5 different phone numbers. Always the same script. Always the same unknown name they ask for. Always the same, dead voices at the other end. And we always tell THEM the same thing. This time I decided to have some fun with them because speaking reasonably does not work. I asked this Bruce fellow if he had access to Google. He stammered a little and finally said "Yes". I told him to google the number he is calling from as well as the name of the company he "works" for and he will see that everyone online KNOWS that this is not legitimate and that they really need to stop calling. He got in a huff and angrily said, "Well, maybe it USED to be a scam...maybe it was a scam when you people took out loans for furniture and didn't pay them back! Maybe we need to start asking the REAL questions! Thank you!" And then he slammed down the phone.
I have reported all other numbers to the FTC and my Attorney General. I have informed these people of this a number of times and yes, the calls have slowed from daily to maybe once a week. It's still not good, but it is a start. We all NEED to tell these people that we know it is a scam. We NEED to report them all to the FTC and , most importantly, to our State's Attorney. I will be reporting this NEW number now as well.
And to "Bruce Williams", if you DID take my advice to looked some of this stuff up and you ARE reading this, you had better believe that your name will be all over my report. You people are crooks and liars and are taking advantage of desperate people during tough times and you should be ashamed.
Remember people: These calls are NOT real. They are a scam. The serving of legal papers is NOT preceded by a phone call by people who do not even have the right name or number for the people they are looking for. Nor do they have any other information. They are merely fishing. They cannot rightfully request money from you, they can NOT threaten you with arrest and I can promise you that NO legal papers will be served by these people. There is absolutely no basis in reality with these calls.
Be brave and, most importantly, be SMART. Do NOT give them any information. Report them to the FTC and your State Attorney and do not take any lip from them.

I GOT A CALL FROM THESE PEOPLE TODAY. I WAS ABLE TO FIND THE IP ADDRESS FROM WHERE IT CAME FROM. IT SHOWS THE ADDRESS 11519 JUDGE AVE, ORLANDO FL 32817. LOOKS LIKE A MICHAEL GONZALEZ OWNS THE BUSINESS AND USED THE NAME CHARLES ROTH THAT THREATENED ME TO SUE ME ON AN ACCOUNT THAT NEVER EXISTED.
