This is a fishing telemarketing group. They use auto dialers. They claim that your computer is sending error messages. They ask you to open files on your computer (specifically the "event viewer") This will always show error messages as a log. They ask you to try to delete one (you can't by design) so they tell you that this indicates that your computer is infected. They offer a common very long ID that is in most computers as the identifier for your specific machine. They claim that this is somehow linked to your phone number (it is not, they use auto dialers). My spouse is a software engineer so we had a hilarious time trying to figure out what they were actually trying to achieve. They claim to be "Geek Services" they denied working for Microsoft or Best Buy. When challenged for information they were quite rude and unhappy. We spoke to at least two different people. One even told my spouse "shut up moron" and that he was an [***]. My spouse being an [***] to them was the only true thing that they spoke!
