Received the following call today:

This message is intended for (my name). Hi, --- - this is Lee Jones with the Department of Legal Affairs of US Treasury and I was trying to reach you in regards to a very important issue. This is a verbal notification for you in regards to a disbursement action that has been started on your name. My number is 510-629-3903 I repeat the number as 510-629-3903 If for any reason you're busy to call back, I would suggest you to have your retain attorney to do it for you as delaying calling us might end up into a legal mess for you. I hope you will take this right and call me back. This is Allan Carter with the Department of Legal Affairs again my number is 510-629-3903.

I have reported this to the fraud dept. at the US treasury. It is very easy to do.

The caller identified himself as "Lee Jones" from "GMC" wanting to "help". He left a very threatening and ominous sounding message to call him back at 877-315-0491 ext 2142 or something bad will happen. I think these people buy up stale, bad debts and try to collect on them. The collection of stale debts is barred by the applicable statute of limitations.
