called threaten me that a payment had not been sent and needed to be spoken with immediately or my case would be turned over to state..
What an idiot! You can not do this.. they must state who they are, name of agency collecting and state up front this is an attempt to collect a debt. You see I know the law and so does my attorney.

I have received numerous calls from this number. The man claims he works for publishers clearing house. He requested that I send money to him to claim my prize of a new car and $500,000.
This is a scam. Beware of anyone calling you from this phone number.

Claimed I'd won the lottery or something, said ok after every sentence. Seriously poor English Indian scam artist. Told him he he was a scammer and to get a real job. Quickly turned into a cussing match. Tried to call me back but I blocked the number.
