Do what I did. Save all voicemails. Buy a handheld recorder and record the voicemails and every call you make or recieve from them. Familiarize yourself with the fair debt collection and practices act. Also make sure that you tell them first thing that you are recording this and all calls as well as recording voicemails to file with the attorney generals office and the fair trade commission. Request their address and answer no questions or admit anything and do not give any personal information. You have rights granted to you by congress to protect you from abusive fear tactics. You have the right to and they have an obligation to provide their address so that you can send a letter of dispute requesting validation that they in fact own the debt, represent the original creditor and provide copies of the original paperwork with your signature and actual amount owed (which cannot exceed the actual amount on the original contract). Send the letter certified with return signature. They have 5 days from receipt of that letter to provide proof and validation. If they don't respond then they have no standing in civil court. They by no means have power to issue a felony warrant. Only the da can do that. It is a scare tactic which is against the law and you can actually sue them for damages for this unethical behavior

It is sad how peoples information float around the world into people hands we know nothing about but they are deby collectors and they are trying to reach a quota. Do not let them ruin your day!!!

This phone call was alarming. My ex-husband from 15 yrs ago called me and said this company called him and said if I don't give them money then they will file felony charges for theft. When I called them to see what in the world they were talking sbout the woman said my first and last name with the wrong middle initial and social. I tried to get to the bottom of it but she hung up on me three times but not before screaming in the phone "I have the papers ready to file with the DA". Who in the heck are these people claiming to be a law firm? And how am I supposed to find out whays going on if they keep hanging up on me? WOW!
